* distro_alias: Remove fileRichard Purdie2025-08-211-377/+0
| | | | | | | | | This had specific uses a long time ago but hasn't been maintained and is now out of date to the point of being questionable value. Drop it. (From OE-Core rev: f911cf3beb9b7a761b75c676238df69eb92a6c2b) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* babeltrace: Remove in favour of babeltrace2Richard Purdie2025-08-211-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | This version is deprecated and replaced by babeltrace2. Drop the older version so we can focus efforts around the newer one. (From OE-Core rev: d16a5e05b3f383d21a1970c6613494416a7503c2) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* classes/recipes-devtools: Drop icecc from OE-CoreRichard Purdie2025-06-051-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are reports this class has been broken since mickledore which suggests there are limited numbers of users. It doesn't have any automated testing and it would be hard to setup and maintain a testing environment for it. The original users/manintainers aren't using it now. For those reasons, drop from OE-Core as we're not in a good position to maintain it. I'd suggest anyone wanting to use it creates a dedicated layer with maintainers who are in a position to test/develop it appropriately since it is standalone code. * libsoup-2.4: Drop recipe as obsoleteRichard Purdie2025-05-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The last user in OE-Core was gst-examples. This has been upgraded and the dependency dropped, all other users can use libsoup3 instead. Therefore remove the obsolete and deprecated version. (From OE-Core rev: 94ebc5b798aed6eea642c5e2a4df24b386520636) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | meta-networking has Apple's mDNSResponder which also delivers libnss-mdns nsswitch plugin. Rename this recipe to avahi-libss-mdns and add an RPROVIDE so that either than be chosen. | | | | | | | | | | It was created in 2004 as an alternative to hdparm and never updated since (while hdparm remains in active development). * libnewt: move to meta-oeAlexander Kanavin2024-06-241-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | There are no consumers in oe-core (after obsolete perf dependency was dropped), and so no reason to keep it there. * libomxil: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2024-05-301-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Now-removed gstreamer omx plugin was the only consumer, and it's all very obsolete and hasn't seen development in years. * liba52: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2024-04-231-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The component has been superseded by ffmpeg long ago, tarballs have disappeared from sourceforge, no work on it has happened in over 10 years. * systemtap-uprobes: removed as obsoleteVictor Kamensky2023-12-061-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | systemtap-uprobes package was not used for a long time - since kernel itself provided uprobes support. Now source code of old uprobes kernel module was removed from systemtap git repo by "PR30434 continuation: Removed old uprobes, uprobes2 implementation, uprobes-inc.h & any mentions of CONFIG_UTRACE." it is good time for us to gid rid of it too. * Convert to new override syntaxRichard Purdie2021-08-021-377/+377
| | | | | | | | | | | | This is the result of automated script conversion: scripts/contrib/convert-overrides.py <oe-core directory> converting the metadata to use ":" as the override character instead of "_". * Remove Clutter and CoglRoss Burton2021-06-031-11/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Clutter and Cogl are not used by anything in oe-core, and in Gnome are legacy components so are only used by a few applications. The recipes have already been moved to meta-gnome so they can now be removed from oe-core. * babeltrace2: added first version, 2.0.1Anders Wallin2020-03-061-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Babeltrace 1 vs. Babeltrace 2 The Babeltrace project exists since 2010. In 2020, Babeltrace 2 was released. Babeltrace 2 is a complete rewrite of the library, Python bindings, and CLI. It is plugin based and offers much more features and potential than Babeltrace 1. Because Babeltrace 2 is still a young released project, some distributions still provide packages for the Babeltrace 1 project. Both projects can coexist on the same system as there are no common installed files. * Remove LSB supportAdrian Bunk2019-08-291-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | LSB as a standard isn't current and isn't well suited to embedded anyway. Its putting artifical constraints on the system and with modern layer technology, would now be better off as its own layer. As such its time to split it out. The only part with some (marginal) usage is lsb_release, which is split from the lsb package into an own lsb-release package. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The extension this client library is for was removed from the X server over a decade ago: commit 22e64108ec63ba77779891f8df237913ef9ca731 Author: Daniel Stone <daniel@fooishbar.org> Date: Wed Jul 16 06:25:26 2008 +0300 XFree86: Remove XFree86-Misc extension Its last remaining purpose in life has been destroyed by input properties. | | | | | | | | | | | | | Both busybox and coreutils provide mktemp, and the only difference between those (and standalone mktemp) is that coreutils supports --suffix. Also mktemp.org has disappeared, so it's fair to assume that the standalone mktemp (last released in 2010) is dead. * x11-common: Merge into xserver-nodm-initJussi Kukkonen2016-11-301-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the (non-factual) x utils dependencies from x11-common to x11 packagegroup. Remove some obsolete configuration from x11-common: * Xsession.d/12keymap.sh: commented out xmodmap call for kdrive * default.xmodmap: xmodmap file used by 12keymap.sh * Xdefaults: rxvt configuration At this point x11-common is just /etc/X11/Xsession and three non-intrusive Xsession scripts: make these explicitly part of xserver-nodm-init. RCONFLICT with the versions of xserver-common that also provide these files. VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_xserver_common is no longer a real abstraction but preserve the setting for backwards compatibility (if the variable is set to "xserver-common", the right thing still happens).
