* classes/kernel*: add variables to allow changing artifact extensionPaul Eggleton2021-12-221-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | Allow .bin suffix to be removed (or changed) in the various artifact filenames. Removing this extension is useful when trying to remove symlinks and present only unversioned image files (especially for the FIT image). * classes/kernel*: allow disabling symlink creationPaul Eggleton2021-12-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Allow setting any of the *_LINK_NAME variables to empty string in order to disable creating symlinks for kernel artifacts, as you can already for filesystem images with IMAGE_LINK_NAME. Additionally, for the image type named symlinks, add a KERNEL_IMAGETYPE_SYMLINK boolean variable which you can set to 0 to disable those symlinks as well. * image-artifact-names: introduce new bbclass and move some variables into itMartin Jansa2020-09-171-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * similar to kernel-artifact-names for other recipes/bbclasses which need to use some deployed artifacts * bitbake.conf: move IMAGE_BASENAME, IMAGE_VERSION_SUFFIX, IMAGE_NAME, IMAGE_LINK_NAME variables * image_types.bbclass: move IMAGE_NAME_SUFFIX variable * currently IMAGE_NAME_SUFFIX is used only by image.bbclass, image_types.bbclass and meta/recipes-core/images/build-appliance-image_15.0.0.bb but if it's needed by some recipe which isn't itself an image, then it's useful in bitbake.conf, e.g. we have a recipe for creating VirtualBox appliances which combines .wic.vmdk with .ovf file to create .zip with appliance, but for that we need the filename of .wic.vmdk which now contains IMAGE_NAME_SUFFIX https://github.com/webOS-ports/meta-webos-ports/blob/4980ce52a43ac6897657602810313af359f0b839/meta-luneos/recipes-core/images/luneos-emulator-appliance.inc#L24 * we were hardcoding .rootfs suffix where needed, but for quite long time it's configurable with IMAGE_NAME_SUFFIX since: commit 380ee36811939d947024bf78de907e3c071b834f Author: Patrick Ohly <patrick.ohly@intel.com> Date: Mon Mar 7 18:07:52 2016 +0100 image creation: allow overriding .rootfs suffix and might not match with hardcoded .rootfs, so make it easier to use IMAGE_NAME_SUFFIX where needed even without inheritting whole image_types.bbclass [YOCTO #12937] (From OE-Core rev: 456b700d51a5052a285a8477304f902c335223be) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | change all names with one variable * some people don't like the ${MACHINE} in the symlink, because now the DEPLOYDIR already contains ${MACHINE} subdirectory, add KERNEL_ARTIFACT_LINK_NAME variable to change it in one place without the need to list all variables for various artifacts (From OE-Core rev: 416b58d84f1124212f114198d2fcb1f3a9bbd223) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | from MODULE_TARBALL_* variables * for consistency with other artifacts variables, include only the version string, not the actual name or extension * changing .tgz to something else in the MODULE_TARBALL_NAME variable only wouldn't make much sense because then kernel.bbclass still calls "tar -cvzf" to create it (From OE-Core rev: 43bd7f39157da49f7fb0c2d6d9751059471c8d53) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | *_BASE_NAME to *_NAME * for consistency with IMAGE_NAME and IMAGE_LINK_NAME and to avoid confusion with IMAGE_BASENAME (which is the actual name of the artifact, e.g. PN while KERNEL_IMAGE_BASE_NAME was only the version suffix) (From OE-Core rev: f952c8e08b4798aa0f8bf764cfd70bda0eae9b8b) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | KERNEL_FIT_SYMLINK_NAME variables * use the same naming scheme for fitImage files like all other deployed artifacts * remove unnecessary cd to DEPLOYDIR * remove unnecessary cd to B (From OE-Core rev: fd69f8b2d7dd950cee9e820ef91ea90521c95ace) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* bitbake.conf, kernel-artifact-names.bbclass: introduce IMAGE_VERSION_SUFFIX ↵Martin Jansa2018-08-211-9/+4

* kernel.bbclass: move variables for kernel artifacts names to separate bbclassMartin Jansa2018-07-101-0/+19
* this makes it easier to access these variables from some other bbclass e.g. sdcard_image-rpi.bbclass in meta-raspberry where we need to know how some files in deploy are named, but we cannot inherit kernel.bbclass as it's used in image recipe not kernel recipe * alternatively we can move these to bitbake.conf like similar image variables are: meta/conf/bitbake.conf:IMAGE_BASENAME = "${PN}" meta/conf/bitbake.conf:IMAGE_NAME = "${IMAGE_BASENAME}-${MACHINE}-${DATETIME}" meta/conf/bitbake.conf:IMAGE_LINK_NAME = "${IMAGE_BASENAME}-${MACHINE}" (From OE-Core rev: 7d0ef0eaa1bfe97015a774c26f5791622e7e8b12) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
