This is an initial commit, containing quick fixes and hacks to allow
building the images. All these issues will be re-evaluated and fixed
properly in their own commits.

The location of the kernel .config file changed, so update it.
Also, in the event of a CONFIG_MODULES=n config the variable is assigned
an empty command output, which causes bitbake errors. So rewrite to
avoid that.
