* abi_version: Bump HASHEQUIV_HASH_VERSIONRichard Purdie3 days1-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | After the changes to the native outhash files to ensure populate_sysroot for native recipes correctly accounts for runtime dependencies, this doesn't reset the target output namespace and means reproducibility issues are still triggering on our test infrastructure. Bump the version being used for hashequiv to ensure we avoid these issues with a new namespace. (From OE-Core rev: 3510caa7245d1993b2dc54c7bf2c7a884dd10c88) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* abi_version/sstate: Bump to fix rpm corruption issuesRichard Purdie2021-10-081-1/+1

* sstatesig: Only apply group/other permissions to pseudo filesRichard Purdie2021-10-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We hardlink some files into the build, such as licence files in do_populate_lic tasks. Depending on the umask that the source tree was checked out with, the group permissions would vary. This results in inconsistent task outhashes. Avoid this by ignoring the group/other bits unless we're under pseudo context. Bump the ABI numbers to ensure we don't see cache corruption from earlier builds. * abi_version/sstate: Bump HASH_VERSION and SSTATE_VERSIONRichard Purdie2021-10-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | At this point the hash equivalence and sstate is 'junk' on the autobuilder unforuntately due to the volume of fixes and also the volume of slighly not quite right patches tested during the development of the fixes. In order to try and help any remaining sanity I might have, bump the version numbers to start with a clean slate so we're working from a known good baseline rather than risk chasing phantom issues. For those upgrading, there wouldn't be much reuse anyway after the changes. * reproducible: Improve SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH_FALLBACK handlingRichard Purdie2021-02-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Ensure the fallback value if used is written to the SDE file and hence stored in sstate, reducing any confusion within the code over '0' values. Bump the HASHEQUIV_VERSION since we've had a ton of trouble with ensuring this rolls out correctly on the autobuilder so others may too, take a clean slate for it. * fs-perms: Ensure /usr/src/debug/ file modes are correctRichard Purdie2020-11-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If files are copied into /usr/src/debug directly from WORKDIR (e.g. makedevs) we'd get the permissions from the checkout which would depend on the host umask. Avoid this and be deterministic by setting the file modes consistently. Core code copies the files in so we're responsible for the permissions. Unfortunately to force this change to apply we need to invalidate both the package tasks and the hash equivalance mappings since file mode 'corruption' already made it into the output hashes (both input options were mapped to the output hashes). * abi_version,sanity: Tell users TMPDIR must be clean after pseudo changesRichard Purdie2020-10-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | After the recent path ignore changes, there are invalid entries in exiting pseudo databases which will trip up users with the new abort() (proving how common the pseudo potential corrpution is!). Inform them a clean TMPDIR is needed. (From OE-Core rev: 016ee90e210c9b15b80e8370d83f41a14867a413) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* abi_version/staging: Bump versions to force rebuild after sstate corruptionRichard Purdie2020-05-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A "broken" buildtools-extended-tarball has been released into the wild where it is optimising binaries for the host processsor. This is fine in local usage but in a non-homogeneous cluster like our autobuilder, this results in SIGILL on other machines when the sstate is shared amongst them and is painful to debug. The buildtools tarball has been fixed but we need to invalidate the hash equivalence and sstate data. This change does that. Adding to OE-Core rather than autobuilder local changes as its good to illustrate how to do this and the issue is potentially wider than just Yocto Project infrastructure. * abi_version/sstatesig: Introduce HASHEQUIV_HASH_VERSIONRichard Purdie2020-02-281-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | We've found we need a way to cause a change in signatures and move to a new hash 'namespace' with hashequiv. This introduces a variable which allows us to do this. * sanity/abi-version: Force a clean TMPDIR after recipe specific sysroot changesRichard Purdie2017-01-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | With the recipe specific sysroots, we need a clean tmpdir, else pseudo-native, openssl-native, subversion-native and serf-native need to be manually cleaned. After these there are probably more places where software doesn't rebuild correctly even if we pass in new parameters to it. The simplest solution is to force people to start from a clean TMPDIR since everything would rebuild anyway. * xserver-xorg: Upgrade 1.16.3 -> 1.17.1 (OELAYOUT_ABI change)Jussi Kukkonen2015-06-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Increase OELAYOUT_ABI: this is required because the xf86-video-modesetting package moves from its own recipe to xserver-xorg and sanity check cannot handle that currently. The upgrade will delete old xf86-video-modesetting files from sysroots. * Remove upstreamed xserver-xorg patches * Remove xf86-video-modesetting recipe: the driver is now included in xserver-xorg recipe, which now produces the xf86-video-modesetting package. The package version changes from 0.9 to 1.17.1 * Update xserver-xorg license checksum: modesetting license info (another MIT one) has been added to the file (From OE-Core rev: 950846d019ffac21909a96d90af8cf7e5bdd5738) Signed-off-by: Jussi Kukkonen <jussi.kukkonen@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* sanity: TMPDIR ABI change for kernel processRichard Purdie2014-12-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The kernel source is being moved into the sysroot, to do this and preserve previous builds, we need to change the TMPDIR ABI and provide a function to uninstall all kernels from the sysroot. This change adds code to do that and increases the ABI number. (From OE-Core rev: 323f9ea99cff00a751e446286bf8bcf8756e4351) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

It also makes the layout slightly more intuitive to the user. It does force a rebuild onto the user but it will reuse sstate successfully. * bitbake.conf/abi_version.conf: Update to use BasicHash signature generatorRichard Purdie2012-06-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This switches to use the hash based signature generatior and update layout_abi to match stamp file layout changes. Angstrom and Poky did this a while ago. This brings the OE-Core defaults into line with what is the best common practise at this point. Its been discussed on the mailing lists and by the TSC at length, this just completes the transition.
