* scripts/tiny/ksize: Fix for more recent kernelsjan2020-05-221-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the past kernel built object files were named 'built-in.o'. Nowadays it is 'built-in.a'. The script is modified to work with both. I expect it will not happen that there are built-in.a and built-in.o files in the same kernel. * scritpts/tiny/ksize: Cleanup some python2 leftover in ksize.pyjan2020-03-131-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | Although the script was running with Python3, almost no detailed output was generated. (From OE-Core rev: bd17a7e60264bb40df340fa38c425a7d7372516e) Signed-off-by: Jan Vermaete <jan.vermaete@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* meta/lib+scripts: Convert to SPDX license headersRichard Purdie2019-05-093-45/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds SPDX license headers in place of the wide assortment of things currently in our script headers. We default to GPL-2.0-only except for the oeqa code where it was clearly submitted and marked as MIT on the most part or some scripts which had the "or later" GPL versioning. The patch also drops other obsolete bits of file headers where they were encoountered such as editor modelines, obsolete maintainer information or the phrase "All rights reserved" which is now obsolete and not required in copyright headers (in this case its actually confusing for licensing as all rights were not reserved). More work is needed for OE-Core but this takes care of the bulk of the scripts and meta/lib directories. The top level LICENSE files are tweaked to match the new structure and the SPDX naming. * scripts: python3 fixes and new tool ksumTom Zanussi2017-01-162-5/+180
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 'ksum.py' generates a combined summary of vmlinux and module sizes for a built kernel, as a quick tool for comparing the overall effects of systemic tinification changes. Execute from the base directory of the kernel build you want to summarize. Setting the 'verbose' flag will display the sizes for each file included in the summary. * dirsize: python3: fix TypeError: unorderable typesEd Bartosh2016-06-031-9/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Python 3 ignores the __cmp__() method and doesn't have cmp() builtin function. This caused sorted() call to raise TypeError: unorderable types: Record() < Record() Removing __cmp__ method and implementing __lt__ should solve the problem as __lt__ is the only method needed for sort[ed] to work. * scripts: Add ksize.py and dirsize.pyDarren Hart2013-10-292-0/+258
Fixes [YOCTO #5388] These scripts can be useful when working to reduce the size of the Linux kernel and the root filesystem. ksize.py displays the kernel build size by the built-in.o files. dirsize.py displays the various sizes of the components of the root directory.
