These packages use hand-grown makefiles which don't handle cleans as they can
invoke /usr/bin/gmake directly which may not exist. Until new upstream releases
are made (which have ported to automake) set CLEANBROKEN to work around this.

The patch tool will apply patches by default with "fuzz", which is where if the
hunk context isn't present but what is there is close enough, it will force the
patch in.
Whilst this is useful when there's just whitespace changes, when applied to
source it is possible for a patch applied with fuzz to produce broken code which
still compiles (see #10450). This is obviously bad.
We'd like to eventually have do_patch() rejecting any fuzz on these grounds. For
that to be realistic the existing patches with fuzz need to be rebased and
reviewed.

uclibc support was removed a while ago and musl works much better. Start to
remove the various overrides and patches related to uclibc which are no longer
needed.
uclibc support in a layer would still be possible. I have strong reasons to
believe nobody is still using uclibc since patches are missing and I doubt
the metadata even parses anymore.

If you attempt to build an image with both attr(-doc) and man-pages
packages your rootfs might fail to assemble. The error will be
something like:
Error: Transaction check error:
file /usr/share/man/man2/fgetxattr.2 from install of \
attr-doc-2.4.47-r0.core2_64 conflicts with file from \
package man-pages-4.11-r0.core2_64
(the error is usually only seen on builders which don't have manpages
installed, if you have /usr/share/man/man1/man.1.gz your build will
complete but you will have duplicate manpages, just one zipped and one
not)
Backporting changes from upstream attr removes the conflicted files in
favour of those in the man-pages package.

Fixed race issue:
In file included from acl_copy_entry.c:22:0:
libacl.h:19:21: fatal error: sys/acl.h: No such file or directory
#include <sys/acl.h>
[snip]
compilation terminated.
acl_get_file.c:27:24: fatal error: acl/libacl.h: No such file or directory
#include <acl/libacl.h>
^
The acl.h is in "include" directory, and include/Makefile creates
symlink "sys" and "acl" poinst to current dirctory:
$ ls include/ -l
acl -> .
sys -> .
So if "libacl" target runs before "include", the error would happen
since no "acl" or "sys" directory.
Let libacl depend on include can fix the problem.

There were a few straggling expansion parameter removals left for
getVar/getVarFlag where the odd whitespace meant they were missed
on previous passes. There were also some plain broken ussages such
as:
d.getVar('ALTERNATIVE_TARGET', old_name, True)
path = d.getVar('PATH', d, True)
d.getVar('IMAGE_ROOTFS', 'True')
which I've corrected (they happend to work by luck).

ACL's ptest has a handful of failure modes which can be triggered by
a restrictive or small system. First, the ptest requires that daemon
be in the bin group, which run-ptest attempts to do using gpasswd,
but gpasswd is part of shadow, and oe-core removes shadow when it
doesn't think shadow will be needed. Even if, say, a package has
RDEPENDS on it. Whoops. So we manually sed the group file. This
will probably work.
Second, the filesystem used for the test has to support ACLs,
so we create a dummy ext3 filesystem and use that.
Third, the root/permissions test relies on the assumption that
"mkdir d" produces a directory which non-root users can access,
but in a secure product which defaults to umask 077, this doesn't
work. (That fix has been separately reported to upstream acl
through their bug report form.)
(This may prevent the test from running without mkfs.ext3, but it
allows the test to run on targets where root doesn't have ACL
support. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs everywhere.)

A lot of our recipes had short one-line DESCRIPTION values and no
SUMMARY value set. In this case it's much better to just set SUMMARY
since DESCRIPTION is defaulted from SUMMARY anyway and then the SUMMARY
is at least useful. I also took the opportunity to fix up a lot of the
new SUMMARY values, making them concisely explain the function of the
recipe / package where possible.

The release tarball of attr 2.4.47 is missing the configure.ac file.
This prevents the autotools bbclass from being able to regenerate the
configure script which leads to other side affects. (e.g. using
outdated config.sub)
This patch adds the configure.ac file via a patch.
(obtained via the source repository at the v2.4.47 tag)

xattr system calls are old enough that we can switch
to just pulling the system call numbers from kernel
headers.
