* meta: Drop remnants of uclibc supportRichard Purdie2017-06-221-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | uclibc support was removed a while ago and musl works much better. Start to remove the various overrides and patches related to uclibc which are no longer needed. uclibc support in a layer would still be possible. I have strong reasons to believe nobody is still using uclibc since patches are missing and I doubt the metadata even parses anymore. * attr: Fix build failure when image includes man-pages pkgMark Asselstine2017-06-143-0/+908
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If you attempt to build an image with both attr(-doc) and man-pages packages your rootfs might fail to assemble. The error will be something like: Error: Transaction check error: file /usr/share/man/man2/fgetxattr.2 from install of \ attr-doc-2.4.47-r0.core2_64 conflicts with file from \ package man-pages-4.11-r0.core2_64 (the error is usually only seen on builders which don't have manpages installed, if you have /usr/share/man/man1/man.1.gz your build will complete but you will have duplicate manpages, just one zipped and one not) Backporting changes from upstream attr removes the conflicted files in favour of those in the man-pages package. * acl: fix race issue when do_compileRobert Yang2017-04-192-1/+54
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixed race issue: In file included from acl_copy_entry.c:22:0: libacl.h:19:21: fatal error: sys/acl.h: No such file or directory #include <sys/acl.h> [snip] compilation terminated. acl_get_file.c:27:24: fatal error: acl/libacl.h: No such file or directory #include <acl/libacl.h> ^ The acl.h is in "include" directory, and include/Makefile creates symlink "sys" and "acl" poinst to current dirctory: $ ls include/ -l acl -> . sys -> . So if "libacl" target runs before "include", the error would happen since no "acl" or "sys" directory. Let libacl depend on include can fix the problem. * meta/scripts: Various getVar/getVarFlag expansion parameter fixesRichard Purdie2017-01-091-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There were a few straggling expansion parameter removals left for getVar/getVarFlag where the odd whitespace meant they were missed on previous passes. There were also some plain broken ussages such as: d.getVar('ALTERNATIVE_TARGET', old_name, True) path = d.getVar('PATH', d, True) d.getVar('IMAGE_ROOTFS', 'True') which I've corrected (they happend to work by luck). * quilt/acl/attc/sed: Fix use of tar's --exclude option for tar >= 1.29Mariano Lopez2016-08-102-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Starting from tar 1.29 the --exclude option won't work anymore if is not used before the path. There are some recipes that copy the ptest using tar and --exclude option. This fixes these for OE-Core recipes. * acl.inc, run-ptest: improve ptest functionality on limited rootfsPeter Seebach2016-05-203-5/+87
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ACL's ptest has a handful of failure modes which can be triggered by a restrictive or small system. First, the ptest requires that daemon be in the bin group, which run-ptest attempts to do using gpasswd, but gpasswd is part of shadow, and oe-core removes shadow when it doesn't think shadow will be needed. Even if, say, a package has RDEPENDS on it. Whoops. So we manually sed the group file. This will probably work. Second, the filesystem used for the test has to support ACLs, so we create a dummy ext3 filesystem and use that. Third, the root/permissions test relies on the assumption that "mkdir d" produces a directory which non-root users can access, but in a secure product which defaults to umask 077, this doesn't work. (That fix has been separately reported to upstream acl through their bug report form.) (This may prevent the test from running without mkfs.ext3, but it allows the test to run on targets where root doesn't have ACL support. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs everywhere.) * gettext: Switch to disabling nls and reducing -native build dependencies to ↵Richard Purdie2011-11-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | a set of pre built m4 macros When analysing our build performance, its apparent that binutils-cross takes an age to get built. This is due to its dependencies on flex-native and bison-native which in turn depend on gettext-native. gettext-native is problematic as it has a significant dependency chain of its own and takes an age to build. What is worse is that we never care about the native language support in -native and -cross packages since we always force the C locale. This patch therefore disables nls for all -native packages (its already disabled for -cross) and adds a new gettext-minimal-native package which contains the m4 macros to keep autoconf/automake happy. This means we gain a significant build time speedup by the removal of gettext-native from most dependency chains (only being part of gettext for the target now). For now the LICENCE field says GPLv3, the macros are actually under a FSF MIT like licence so we need to update this part of the patch in due course.
