* core-image-full-cmdline: Add lessRichard Purdie2019-11-251-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Less was coming from busybox in these images, add the full version. * Remove LSB supportAdrian Bunk2019-08-291-240/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | LSB as a standard isn't current and isn't well suited to embedded anyway. Its putting artifical constraints on the system and with modern layer technology, would now be better off as its own layer. As such its time to split it out. The only part with some (marginal) usage is lsb_release, which is split from the lsb package into an own lsb-release package. * defaultsetup.conf: enable select init managerKai Kang2019-07-191-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a new variable INIT_MANAGER and create 4 init-manager-*.inc files to configure init manager settings. Available values of INIT_MANAGER are sysvinit, systemd, mdev-busybox and a default of none. 'none' provides backwards compatibility. The settings of various VIRTUAL-RUNTIME variables are moved into these files from the packagegroups. * packagegroup-core-lsb: remove GTK+Ross Burton2019-07-101-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | GTK+ 2 is being removed from oe-core, so remove it from the oe-core LSB packagegroup. Also document the fact that GTK+ 2 is no longer part of the LSB packagegroup, and point to meta-oe for the recipe if required. * packagegroup-core-full-cmdline: Make nfs-utils/rpcbind optionalOliver Stäbler2019-05-301-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Consider DISTRO_FEATURES for nfs-utils and rpcbind. This is to prevent the following warning while booting: NFS daemon support not enabled in kernel (From OE-Core rev: bd59536158ba29aec979378068d5d50b4a29282d) Signed-off-by: Oliver Stäbler <oliver.staebler@bytesatwork.ch> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* packagegroup-core-full-cmdline: remove zlibRoss Burton2019-05-071-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | zlib is just a library so there's no point in it being part of a 'full commandline experience' packagegroup. * packagegroup-core-base-utils: remove lzipRoss Burton2019-04-011-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | lzip is pretty niche: people are typically either sticking with that they know (gzip, bzip) or using xz. Data point: only one recipe in oe-core is shipped as a .lz file. * packagegroup-core-base-utils: Introduce new base-utils packagegroupTom Rini2019-03-061-0/+58
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This packagegroup is intended to provide all of the functionality found in other VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_base-utils providers through full packages rather than an all-on-one package. Document how to make use of this in local.conf.sample.extended. Introduce VIRTUAL-RUNTIME-vim and default this to vim-tiny to allow for a differently features vim to be used instead. * packagegroup-core-lsb/-x11-sato: no udev-extraconf in case of systemdChen Qi2018-10-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The automount udev rule in udev-extraconf is likely to cause conflicts or failures in case of systemd. We are seeing errors like below for qemu bsps. run-media-hdc.mount loaded failed failed /run/media/hdc So do not install udev-extraconf in case of systemd in these two packagegroups. * packagegroup-core-lsb/-full-cmdline: add bzip2Chen Qi2018-10-122-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We are having the following error when using 'tar' from tar recipe to decompress .tar.bz2 files. tar (child): bzip2: Cannot exec: No such file or directory tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now The tar package is introduced by these two packagegroups into image. >From the README file from tar's source codes: """ ** gzip and bzip2. GNU tar uses the gzip and bzip2 programs to read and write compressed archives. If you don't have these programs already, you need to install them. """ So we'd better cluster gzip and bzip2 with tar. These two packagegroups already get 'gzip', so we also add 'bzip2'. * packagegroup-core-full-cmdline: clean up system-services dependenciesRoss Burton2018-07-261-8/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The 'system services' packagegroup depends on a number of packages which are not system services, so remove them from the list. * packagegroup-full-cmdline: remove poptRoss Burton2018-06-271-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | popt is a library, so it makes no sense for this to be in a "command line" packagegroup. (From OE-Core rev: 4af90876914e5f2ccc5b7f833cd43c239c2dac55) Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* mktemp: removeRoss Burton2018-06-212-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Both busybox and coreutils provide mktemp, and the only difference between those (and standalone mktemp) is that coreutils supports --suffix. Also mktemp.org has disappeared, so it's fair to assume that the standalone mktemp (last released in 2010) is dead. * libuser: removeRoss Burton2018-05-041-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | This isn't used by anything in oe-core (or in common use in general, only one package in Debian depends on it), so remove it from oe-core. * libpam: be more strict about user's sanityMartin Jansa2018-03-041-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * replace do_pam_sanity function with distro_features_check inherit * fixes: WARNING: libpam-1.3.0-r5 do_pam_sanity: Building libpam but 'pam' isn't in DISTRO_FEATURES, PAM won't work correctly in world builds and prevents user to build libpam at all without pam in DISTRO_FEATURES, I don't see any users of this which wouldn't respect pam in DISTRO_FEATURES * only libuser is depending on libpam without respecting DISTRO_FEATURES * there are few recipes in meta-oe layers depending on libpam without respecting DISTRO_FEATURES, I've sent patch for them: samba, openwsman, pam-ssh-agent-auth, sblim-sfcb, passwdqc, python-pam, smbnetfs and omxplayer in meta-raspberrypi, I've sent PR for that one: https://github.com/agherzan/meta-raspberrypi/pull/192 * poky-lsb will need to add pam to DISTRO_FEATURES in order to build packagegroup-core-lsb (From OE-Core rev: c9e7a276859d38aaa03845ee09428f62760ad147) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* pax: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2018-02-242-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The situation with pax (vs. tar and cpio) is perfectly described here: https://xkcd.com/927/ The only reason pax is still around, kind of, is because both POSIX and LSB mandate it. Outside of those documents, it's not used by anyone. Meanwhile, the upstream URI we've been taking it from went down, and rather than seek an alternative source, I just went ahead and removed the recipe. | | | | | | | | | sysfsutils is unmaintained and generally not needed. (From OE-Core rev: 4b0a6ac87a9d1ef0ce8e84b56208d847718f12fd) Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* classes/recipes: Convert SkipPackage -> SkipRecipeRichard Purdie2018-01-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The new name is much more consistent with what this actually means. We put the pieces in place to rename everything a while back but looks like we forgot to actually do it! * neon: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2017-12-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For these reasons: 1) Upstream website has been dead for quite a while now; 2) Nothing is actually using neon in oe-core, except one gstreamer plugin in gst-plugins-bad (and I couldn't find evidence of that plugin being used anywhere) However, the recipe is still required by libmusicbrainz in meta-oe and so it will be moved there (with the tarball taken from debian). * mailx: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2017-06-281-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This recipe was carried only for LSB compatibility, with upstream being defunct for a long time; if there is a need for a modern, supported implementation of mail/mailx, then s-nail (http://sdaoden.eu/code.html) or mailutils (http://mailutils.org/) should be used. * recipes-lsb4/perl: remove the recipesAlexander Kanavin2017-06-281-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | These were required by LSB 4.1 tests; there's no other reason to continue carrying them in oe-core. * libpng12: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin2017-06-281-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | It was only in oe-core because of LSB; let's remove it. Current libpng is 1.6.x. (From OE-Core rev: 839af0eafc39b4d182617925e6ab9299431c8601) Signed-off-by: Alexander Kanavin <alexander.kanavin@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* packagegroup-core-lsb: do not include Qt4 anymoreAlexander Kanavin2017-06-281-26/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Last version of qt4 was released 2 years ago, and Qt4 was officially EOLd at the end of 2015. On the other hand, LSB is no longer being developed, and so will 'require' Qt4 until the end of time. Let's pull the plug. * mc: do not package Python-based extfs helpersAlexander Kanavin2017-05-162-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | They have not been ported to Python 3, and they are for browsing Amazon s3+ and Commodore 64/128 emulator filesystems - hardly consequential. * packagegroup-core-lsb: avoid rebuilding when changing layer configPaul Eggleton2017-03-161-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's regrettable that code in here is referring to BBFILE_COLLECTIONS, but it is, and the result is that this packagegroup will rebuild simply by adding or removing a layer which may be completely unrelated to whether you've got meta-qt4 or not. Add BBFILE_COLLECTIONS to vardepsexclude for the function to avoid this. (This was flagged up when testing the new yocto-compat-layer script - it understandably but undesirably reports it as a change caused by a layer). * packagegroup-core-lsb: add opengl to REQUIRED_DISTRO_FEATURESChristopher Larson2017-01-051-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | This group pulls in libglu, which needs virtual/libgl, whose providers require opengl in DISTRO_FEATURES. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Rather than just use d.getVar(X), use the more explict d.getVar(X, False) since at some point in the future, having the default of expansion would be nice. This is the first step towards that. This patch was mostly made using the command: sed -e 's:\(getVar([^,()]*\)\s*):\1, False):g' -i `grep -ril getVar *` (From OE-Core rev: ab7c1d239b122c8e549e8112c88fd46c9e2b061b) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | The packagegroup-core-full-cmdline-sys-services should not pull in lighttpd, move it to packagegroup-core-lsb since lsb needs it. * arch-mips.inc: Change definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCHMark Hatle2015-01-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [YOCTO #7230] In certain system configurations TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH will not expand in the right order for gcc-cross-candian-mips64n32 to be generated properly. This will cause SDKs to fail to generate properly. Changing the global definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH always expands the ABIEXTENSION, which causes the OVERRIDES to pick it up as well. This effectively defines a new class of overrides for the 'n32'. The side effect is that we need to duplicate some mips64 overrides, and redefine others that were previously 'n32' or 'mips64' exclusive to have the correct semantics.
