* gdb: add --with-libexpat-prefixMartin Jansa2012-04-101-2/+2

* gdb: build with expat, add missing RRECOMMENDS_gdbserverAndreas Oberritter2012-04-034-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | * Fixes communication between gdbserver and gdb-cross by using the same expat settings for both recipes. * Adds missing build dependencies for expat/expat-native. * Adds missing glibc-thread-db runtime recommendation to gdbserver, which was set only for gdb. * gdb-cross-canadian: Fix linking issues when python support is enabledKhem Raj2012-03-232-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | gdb-cross-canadian was linking with static version of libpython and looking for build host python when run. This could be mismatch between python-nativesdk and build host provided python. So we make it consistent to always use python-nativesdk Instead of adding bunch of -L we add -rpath and -rpath-link so that gdb finds all needed libraries in SDK and does not reach out into host This should fix yocto PR# 2077 as well. * gdb-cross-canadian: build gdb with python supportEric BENARD2012-02-262-2/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * python support is needed for providing finer scripting control in gdb, and for remote controling gdb for example from qtcreator * gdb/configure tries to autodetect python using python executable with --includes --ldflags --exec-prefix to get the right flags As it's difficult to achieve in OE's context, we generate a script which will return the right values and make gdb's build system happy. This idea was taken from the following article : http://www.mentby.com/doug-evans-2/python-enabled-gdb-on-windows-and-relocation.html * tested using angstrom & armv7 target & qtcreator 201005 & 2.4.0 * MJ: updated paths to python as disscussed here http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail/openembedded-core/2012-February/018222.html now it's easier with cross-canadian staging dir and SDKPATH fixed :) (From OE-Core rev: 73a90b88541c373aa5b83a939dd3b5f1fe05b9b8) Signed-off-by: Eric BĂ©nard <eric@eukrea.com> Cc: fcooper@ti.com Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* Fix multiarch DISTRO_FEATUREJulian Pidancet2011-11-301-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Make get_gcc_multiarch_setting more elegant. Use a dictionnary to store the config options and replace bb.data.getVar with d.getVar. Remove i686 from the architecture list because it doesn't seem to be a valid TARGET_ARCH any more in OE. Configure gdb (gdb and gdb-cross) with --enable-64-bit-bfd if multiarch DISTRO_FEATURE is present (From OE-Core rev: 0b42b2fc118bef8ce0d1473b146673182f5d1f78) Signed-off-by: Julian Pidancet <julian.pidancet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* Drop PRIORITY variableRichard Purdie2011-07-011-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As discussed on the mailing list, this variable isn't useful and if wanted would be better implemented by distros using pn-X overrides. This patch executes: find . -regex ".*\.\(bb\|inc\)$" | xargs sed -i '/^PRIORITY = ".*"$/d' against the tree removing the referenced. Thanks to Phil Blundell for the command. | | | | | | | | | | | Using TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH instead of TARGET_ARCH for cross-canadian packages. * Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie2010-08-2713-0/+1075
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
