* e2fsprogs: Use specific BSD license variantJoshua Watt2022-02-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Make the license more accurate by specifying the specific variant of BSD license instead of the generic one. This helps with SPDX license attribution as "BSD" is not a valid SPDX license. (From OE-Core rev: 966fb77981e4fed0ab7998439940b1e05dd0ee43) (From OE-Core rev: a7fe869c49bdc2e9a2b69b763779a642dc0c6e35) Signed-off-by: Joshua Watt <JPEWhacker@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Nisha Parrakat <nisha.m.parrakat@bmw.de> Signed-off-by: Steve Sakoman <steve@sakoman.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* meta: Add explict branch to git SRC_URIs, handle github url changesSteve Sakoman2021-11-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This update was made with the convert-scruri.py script in scripts/contrib This script handles two emerging issues: 1. There is uncertainty about the default branch name in git going forward. To try and cover the different possible outcomes, add branch names to all git:// and gitsm:// SRC_URI entries. 2. Github are dropping support for git:// protocol fetching, so remap github urls as needed. For more details see: https://github.blog/2021-09-01-improving-git-protocol-security-github/ (From OE-Core rev: 827a805349f9732b2a5fa9184dc7922af36de327) Signed-off-by: Steve Sakoman <steve@sakoman.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* e2fsprogs: split dumpe2fs into its own packageAndré Draszik2019-12-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a mere 24KB (on 32bit arm), avoiding to pull in all of the remainder +300KB in small initramfs images when not needed. Add this new package to RDEPENDS of e2fsprogs so as to not break existing users. Also, remove a stale reference to the non-existent e2fsprogs-fsck package which was removed in 2012 from here in commit 98b1b9f047ef ("e2fsprogs: Drop fsck binary"), commit 93d647172786 in poky, and sort some of the lists alphabetically. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | e2fsprogs builds fine with or without attr but it's possible to end up with this sequence: * e2fsprogs configure finds attr/xattr.h (coming from sstate) * attr starts rebuild, attr/xattr.h is removed from sysroot * e2fsprogs compile fails: "attr/xattr.h: No such file or directory" Depend on attr to ensure reproducible build. * Add texinfo.bbclass; recipes that use texinfo utils at build-time inherit it.Max Eliaser2014-05-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The class itself currently does nothing. The idea is to mark all recipes that make use of the texinfo utilities. In the future, this class could be used to suppress the generation/formatting of documentation for performance, explicitly track dependencies on these utilities, and eliminate Yocto's current dependency on the host system's texinfo utilities. * e2fsprogs: Fully remove/disable blkidRichard Purdie2012-08-291-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We've removed libblkid from e2fsprogs as it was being provided by util-linux. The blkid binary is also provided there and providing it within e2fsprogs too, linked against a different and potentially incompatible library we're likely asking for trouble. It also leads to inconsistencies in the native sysroot since we don't consistently get one given provider of blkid (but always the liblibid from util-linux). To clean this up, fully remove/disable the blkid binary and package. (From OE-Core rev: fb8e776ea91c39d586b46400ad30aeea8dead1c4) Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie2010-08-271-0/+25
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
