* recipes: convert remaining SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION cosmetic issues (part 2)Matthieu Crapet2014-02-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Completes previous commit b5292d4115a4555a66b5e35acdc67dd71fb8577f. Updates SUMMARY[doc] (meta/conf/documentation.conf). Changes: - rename DESCRIPTION with length < 80 to (non present tag) SUMMARY - drop final point character at the end of SUMMARY string - remove trailing whitespace of SUMMARY line Note: don't bump PR (From OE-Core rev: ad17dfd31a2b97b3e610a0ea0889f5ecb2a63b97) Signed-off-by: Matthieu Crapet <Matthieu.Crapet@ingenico.com> Signed-off-by: Saul Wold <sgw@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* update-rc.d: process symlinks recursivelyChristopher Larson2013-12-051-10/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | When processing startup scripts which use update-alternatives, we need to keep resolving the symlink recursively until we hit a real file, due to the alternatives indirection. This fixes the ability to run certain postinsts at do_rootfs time, which is needed for good read-only-rootfs support. * remove the unnecessary protocol parametersJackie Huang2013-08-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | It's not necessary to specify the protocol parameter when it's the default protocol for the fetcher, e.g. the default protocol for git fetcher it git, "protocol=git" isn't needed. * update-rc.d: fix failure on targetLaurentiu Palcu2013-01-171-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | The problem happened because the variables given to -n were not surounded by quotes. (From OE-Core rev: 98f17da7ccc1bf79fc5894f90e52769bdbcf89df) Signed-off-by: Laurentiu Palcu <laurentiu.palcu@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* update-rc.d: check also that symlinks are validLaurentiu Palcu2013-01-162-2/+57
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Running: update-rc.d -r /path/to/target/rootfs basename defaults at do_rootfs time in package postinstall stage, when /path/to/target/rootfs/etc/init.d/basename is a symlink and points to some path on target (for example: /etc/init.d/basename.some_package), would fail and the postinstall execution would be postponed for first boot, on target. This patch adds the posibility to verify whether the file the symlink points to actually exists in the target rootfs. * recipes: Delete patch=1, its default and replace pnum with striplevelKhem Raj2011-08-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Some place pnum=1 is used which is removed as well since striplevel=1 is default (From OE-Core rev: 4e108857e0d40105f7ecbc55e99bd6c367bb7386) Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
* update-rc.d: Switch from a tag to a sepcific revisionRichard Purdie2011-07-121-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unfortunately the git fetcher cannot resolve a named tag into a revision without network access. Since its desireable for OE-Core to function in a networkless environment, we need to specify the revision in the recipe which corresponds to the 0.7 tag. * Drop PRIORITY variableRichard Purdie2011-07-011-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As discussed on the mailing list, this variable isn't useful and if wanted would be better implemented by distros using pn-X overrides. This patch executes: find . -regex ".*\.\(bb\|inc\)$" | xargs sed -i '/^PRIORITY = ".*"$/d' against the tree removing the referenced. Thanks to Phil Blundell for the command. * Improve handling of 'all' architecture recipes and their interaction with sstateRichard Purdie2011-05-311-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The existing PACKAGE_ARCH = "all" mechanism of sharing packages is problematic with sstate since there are a variety of variables which have target specific values and the sstate package therefore correctly changes signature depending on the MACHINE setting. This patch creates a new "allarch" class which sets: PACKAGE_ARCH = "all" (as per the existing convention) INHIBIT_DEFAULT_DEPS = "1" (since its not target specific and therefore can't depend on the cross compiler or target libc) TARGET_ARCH = "all" TARGET_OS = "linux" TARGET_CC_ARCH = "none" (since these variables shouldn't change between the different packages and target compiler flags shouldn't be getting used) PACKAGE_EXTRA_ARCHS = "" (since we shouldn't be depending on any architecture specific package architectures) Not all PACKAGE_ARCH = "all" recipes can use this class since some run configure checks on the compiler. This means they have target specific components and therefore the "all" classification is incorrect. * Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie2010-08-272-0/+72
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
