* core-image-minimal-initramfs: use initramfs-framework for initializationCalifornia Sullivan2018-04-181-1/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | initramfs-framework is more modular and expandable. This change was proposed in commit 28fc6ba761ed4a47efa7c43e7f7dff5e2fe72b5e "core-image-minimal-initramfs: use initramfs-framework by default" but reverted due to the selftests runqemu.RunqemuTests.test_boot_machine_iso and runqemu.RunqemuTests.test_boot_deploy_hddimg failing. Since then, the kinks have been worked out, and missing functionality that had been missed (non-EFI installation module) has been added. Since the PACKAGE_INSTALL variable was getting so long with all these individual modules getting added, I also introduced a new INITRAMFS_SCRIPTS variable to the core-image-minimal-initramfs recipe. This variable makes the recipe look much cleaner, and also allows easier replacement or additions to the scripts. Fixes [YOCTO #10987]. * image-live.bbclass: add MLPREFIX to core-image-minimal-initramfsRobert Yang2018-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The 32bit core-image-minimal-initramfs should be built when build lib32-iso, e.g.: MACHINE = "qemux86-64" require conf/multilib.conf MULTILIBS = "multilib:lib32" DEFAULTTUNE_virtclass-multilib-lib32 = "x86" IMAGE_FSTYPES += "iso" $ bitbake lib32-core-image-minimal Exception: FileExistsError: [Errno 17] File exists: '/path/to/tmp/sysroots-components/core2-64/qemuwrapper-cross/usr/bin/crossscripts/qemuwrapper' -> '/path/to/tmp/work/qemux86_64-pokymllib32-linux/lib32-core-image-minimal/1.0-r0/lib32-recipe-sysroot/usr/bin/crossscripts/qemuwrapper' This was because: lib32-core-image-minimal -> core-image-minimal-initramfs core-image-minimal-initramfs -> qemuwrapper-cross lib32-core-image-minimal -> lib32-qemuwrapper-cross So we got the error, build lib32-core-image-minimal-initramfs can fix the problem. * Revert "core-image-minimal-initramfs: use initramfs-framework by default"Richard Purdie2017-07-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This reverts commit 28fc6ba761ed4a47efa7c43e7f7dff5e2fe72b5e since it causes runqemu.RunqemuTests.test_boot_machine_iso and runqemu.RunqemuTests.test_boot_deploy_hddimg to fail in oe-selftest. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

* core-image-minimal-initramfs: Use PACKAGE_INSTALL instead of IMAGE_INSTALLSaul Wold2014-02-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PACKAGE_INSTALL is set from the IMAGE_INSTALL variable with some additional items, since PACKAGE_INSTALL is intended to be more an internal variable, use it instead of the IMAGE_INSTALL which is recommeded for installing additional packages. This will allow the initramfs recipe to use a fixed set of packages and not be affected by IMAGE_INSTALL. * EFI: Make installer EFI awareDarren Hart2012-07-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [YOCTO #1919] Create a basic EFI installer script modeled after the existing installer and add it to a new initramfs-live-install-efi recipe. Update the init-live.sh script to distinguish between LABEL=install and LABEL=install-efi and select the appropriate script. Add the efi installer to core-image-minimal-initramfs. Update grub-efi.bbclass to use "LABEL=install-efi" when it detects a label of "install". This is clearly not ideal, but a proper fix would involve decoupling the LABELS assignment from the image-live.bbclass usage of SYSLINUX_LABELS. We should be able to address that in a follow-on clean-up series. * bitbake.conf, core-image-minimal-initramfs: add INITRAMFS_FSTYPESDmitry Eremin-Solenikov2011-12-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Initramfs images don't benefit from usual IMAGE_FSTYPES overrides. The only sane values for them are "cpio.XXX". If IMAGE_FSTYPES is set to include 'live', building core-image-minimal-initramfs can result in build error, if the image is built before the kernel. To stop initramfs images from responding on IMAGE_FSTYPES settings, but still allow users/developers to override defaults (e.g. to generate "cpio.lzma" initramfs), introduce INITRAMFS_FSTYPES variable, by default set to "cpio.gz". * core-image-minimal-initramfs: force IMAGE_FSTYPESPaul Eggleton2011-11-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If the user has set their own value for IMAGE_FSTYPES, they may have disabled the cpio.gz image type, preventing the initramfs from being produced in the format that image-live.bbclass expects; so force IMAGE_FSTYPES to cpio.gz within the initramfs image recipe. * Prevent IMAGE_FEATURES from contaminating initrdDarren Hart2011-09-161-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Set IMAGE_FEATURES="" in core-image-initramfs to prevent the setting of things like EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES in local.conf from contaminating the initrd with features meant for the rootfs. * IMAGE_ROOTFS_SIZE CleanupSaul Wold2011-05-251-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This basic cleanup removes the _ext2/3 overrides from places they no longer belong since they did not allow further overrides. In doing this the core-image-minimal* recipes can now set a reasonably small rootfs so that it's a realistic size for minimal. The new default for minimal is 8M and will be adujsted upward by the IMAGE_OVERHEAD_FACTOR (default of 1.3). This also fixes the ROOTFS_SIZE usage in the IMAGE_CMD_<fstype> code (From OE-Core rev: d3f6e1e6106ab539e73c19037915b2e4a5f2efa9) Signed-off-by: Saul Wold <sgw@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
