* recipetool: create: fix change in path structure if --extract-to path existsPaul Eggleton2015-10-071-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If the directory specified by --extract-to exists, because we were using shutil.move() to move the temporary extracted directory to the specified path, a subdirectory was being created under that directory instead of moving the contents, which was a different result than if the directory didn't previously exist. We could try to always move the contents but that's complicated when any symlinks are involved; the simplest thing is just to remove the directory (which should be empty anyway) before moving the temporary directory across in its place. * devtool: update-recipe: avoid updating patches that have not changedPaul Eggleton2015-10-071-3/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use "git cherry" against the original tag that we made when we extracted the source in order to find the revisions that are definitely new. This allows you to modify a commit in the middle of the series and then run devtool update-recipe and not have the subsequent patches unnecessarily modified. Fixes [YOCTO #8388]. * fontcache: allow to pass extra parameters and environment to fc-cacheMartin Jansa2015-10-012-6/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * this can be useful for passing extra parameters, pass -v by default to see what's going on in do_rootfs * we need to use this for extra parameter we implemented in fontconfig: --ignore-mtime always use cache file regardless of font directory mtime because the checksum of fontcache generated in do_rootfs doesn't match with /usr/share/fonts directory as seen on target device causing fontconfig to re-create the cache when fontconfig is used for first time or worse create new cache in every user's home directory when /usr/ filesystem is read only and cache cannot be updated. Running FC_DEBUG=16 fc-cache -v on such device shows: FcCacheTimeValid dir "/usr/share/fonts" cache checksum 1441207803 dir checksum 1441206149 * my guess is that the checksum is different, because pseudo (which is unloaded when running qemuwrapper) or because some influence of running the rootfs under qemu. * webkitgtk: Use ON/OFF for cmake switches.Carlos Alberto Lopez Perez2015-10-011-10/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * This is a cosmetic patch. * Using ON/OFF instead of True/False is exactly the same for cmake (is case insensitive). * But WebKitGTK+ preffers (and uses) the first option. So when you check which values were enabled for the build (at log.do_configure) you will see that every option that was not modified will print either OFF or ON, meanwhile the options modified by this recipe will print True or False. For example: [...] -- ENABLE_THREADED_COMPOSITOR OFF -- ENABLE_PLUGIN_PROCESS_GTK2 .............. ON -- ENABLE_MINIBROWSER True [...] (From OE-Core rev: 04a1030951f14b95abe917e53116021ebc6c4396) Signed-off-by: Carlos Alberto Lopez Perez <clopez@igalia.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | BBPKGS is a confusing name from before we tried to straighten out our terminology. Its also a mostly unknown variable that isn't in wide use. I've been asked about it recently and before people start relying more heavily on it, I'd like to rename it BBTARGETS which better describes what it does. Its not currently in the manuals, I'd prefer to document it under the better name. I've not provided any migration path for the variable since I believe its unused currently. It allows the targets to built to be specified from a conf file in addition to those on the commandline. * bitbake: bitbake-worker: Guard against multiprocessing corruption of event dataRichard Purdie2015-10-011-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the forked child, we may use multiprocessing. There is only one event pipe to the worker controlling process and if we're unlucky, multiple processes can write to it at once corrupting the data by intermixing it. We don't see this often but when we do, its quite puzzling. I suspect it only happens in tasks which use multiprocessng (do_rootfs, do_package) and is much more likely to happen when we have long messages, usually many times PAGE_SIZE since PAGE_SIZE writes are atomic. This makes it much more likely within do_roofs, when for example a subprocess lists the contents of a rootfs. To fix this, we give each child a Lock() object and use this to serialise writes to the controlling worker.
